This package contains a workbook (in binder form) and a 20-minute video. The workbook provides useful information and exercises that take the injured worker from injury, to rehabilitation, to returning to work. It includes information on how to keep records to help maintain entitlement and rights to Workers Compensation benefits, step-by-step budgeting, and how to identify your transferable skills. In the video, injured workers describe their experiences dealing with workplace injury or disease, "getting through the system," and living with a disability. Others can learn from the stories of these strong survivors. Workbook 245 pages; video 20 minutes. Joanne Ranger, Employment Counselor and Injured Worker Representative, More Than Words/Paroles et actions: "Together We Can Win" is very well put together and laid out; very clear. It's (written) in a language that workers can understand; very factual and based on life experience." Robert Bourrier, CAW Local 100 (Rail Division): He has shown the Together We Can Win video to CN Rail Health and Safety Committees in Winnipeg. "I found it helpful. It helps bring home the fact that a lot of people are unaware that provincial legislation over the past few years has been working against the interest of workers. The legislation is getting tougher; workers are having more difficulty being successful with their claims."
